OK, but it is still interesting to know. Also, my best friend is an O with
welsh/french canadian ancestry, and if she's eaten anything raw in the last
five years it was by accident. So, if anyone else out there has the same
profile, I'll feel that there's hope for her.

Subject: intro for rawlife email list posting

Hello,
I've bee a vegetarian for 27 years, vegan (mostly) for 3 or 4 but just became seriously interested in going raw since reading NATURE'S FIRST LAW last June. That's kind of strange, because I remember thinking 27 years ago that it is RIDICULOUS to cook anything, but then I was married for some time. I got into that whole thing about wanting to be a good wife, which would be along the lines of society's and my spouses expectations of women, meaning being a good or tolerable cook and preparing meals for one's family. It is funny how even a non-conformist can get lost in the morass of conformity!

I did notice an energy and clearness after raw meals. At first I had problems with always being hungry, so I just ate more. I'm still only about 80% raw, usually a little cooked food after a raw salad in the evening. I'm indecisive about attempting to go 100% every day, since that makes it harder to participate in social conventions, like Christmas with my family, but think it is necessary to be 100% healthy. Just need the moral support and hoping rawlife digest will help!

Clara

Neil-
I agree with you-
chosing one's diet has to do with a certain consciousness about oneself,
always lookig at something anew, never doing something because "I have always
done it this way..." There maybe certain astrological signs who are more
inclined towards looking at things from a different point of view instead of
accepting the status quo.
I mean, look at my ancestry: German food. Knockwurst and sauerkraut ueber
alles....When I came to the States and was exposed to the cuisines of the
world, I gave up my German diet....I was always drawn to veggies and I was
"lucky" that in my early years we had little meat but we had lots of veggies
out of three gardens. Once the war was over, and Germany prospered, the
diet-related illnesses increased. When I go to Germany now, everybody talks
about various illnesses which they accept it as part of getting older...

If you had a friend who is a diabetic and could not eat certain things, you
would accommodate him, yes? So eat what you think is best for you, wether it
be 100% raw or less, and enjoy your family..... aren't some of them eating
meat while you are already a vegan?

Hi Clara and welcome to the list!
I have been mostly raw since August, then went to Italy and ate the local
fare. Thought I could stop after the trip, but watched as I progressively
added more foods that I had let go of months before. I have really
experienced the progressive nature of the cooked food addiction. Now I'm
starting over again. I felt excellent when raw and I encourage you to take
the plunge, use the list and the people here to get the support you need.
That's what I was missing in Italy and the voice of the food was too loud to
shake this time.
Back on track to freedom, health and sanity!

And which animals get the same diseases as humans??? Domesticated
pets that eat cooked food that we force upon them.....

Some peoples digestion is so piss weak that tehy cant digest some of the tougher
raw foods, with loads of cellulose fiber. (like broccoli etc). My suggestion, dont
eat
these till you can.....fast, this improves digestion, only eat fruit in small
quantities.....

Hey there everyone

I was on this list up to about a year ago and moved to Florida last =
March from Oregon. I may come back on for awhile to see what's going on =
but I'm not on yet. When does JR get back from Thailand? Do I have to =
wait till then to get on?

What I wanted to talk about is my new angel juicer that I got today in =
the mail. In the past I have had these juicers - omega, juiceman, =
champion and green power. But the angel is by far the best of all. So =
far its doing everything well even all greens. Its very powerful - 3 =
horsepower, quite, indestructible all metal - no plastic, easy to =
assemble and clean. The pulp comes out perfectly dry. If you want the =
best juicer try the angel. Note this is not the cheapest juicer at $600 =
but the cheapest in the long run because of effective juicing ability. I =
made this juice tonight with 2 apples a bunch of parsley and a small =
cucumber that was just marvelous. I feel like just using juices now.

To reply make it personal until I'm on the list ok

Happy New Year
