Hi everyone!

I' ve been a raw food eater for over 8 months and a vegan for several years. I have noticed that on the last months I have had some healing crisis and i would like to get feedback from more experienced raw fooders.

About two years ago, after analyzing my own general health, I realized I was suffering from constipation for many years that I was not aware for a long time. I was also very affected psychologically and physically from acne problems that unfortunately I solved using a very serious allopathic medication (Roaccutane) that makes permanent changes in the = lipid secretion glands in my skin. But before taking this medicine, I went under treatments that involved lots of antibiotics, and I also took hormones for about 3 months.

About a year ago, I started to loose my hair, which was really shocking because I am 24 years old and there are no relatives that could make me think it is a genetically situation.

I think constipation could be related to it. Sometimes I feel pain in my colon (Mostly on the ascendant colon). Also, I usually have pain in my neck (stress type pain) and shoulders. I am also getting sick (cold) quite often.

Psychological therapy has helped me a lot, but I am still concerned about some things. I found that I have an obsessive-compulsive personality structure (Hope it is well translated), and being aware of it has really helped me a lot.

What is kind of strange, is that I think I have a quite healthy life: I practice yoga, jog 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, do meditation, breathing exercises, hydrotherapy, try to live in positive environments, etc.

I follow Gabriel Cousens advises regarding nutrition (I have read a lot of nutrition stuff and I am practicing it at the moment), like acid-base balance, ayurvedic medicine, essential nutrients as fatty acids, minerals, aminoacids. I fasted for 10 days last October, and right now I fast once a week (one day per week). I take plant enzymes, spirulina, pollen, lecithin. I am a 100% raw food eater!!. One important thing to mention is that sometimes (quite often) I have problems overeating, or eating very fast, but that is something I am working on.

Is it that 8 months is a very short time to heal a chronic constipation?

Am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Love,
Olman

Here is one of my favorite recipes. I would really appreciate any comments or advises on the taste and health related topics. Personally, I have found it very balancing.

Raw Seed Cheese Bread

  1. Sprout or soak grains (I sprout them for 1 or 2 days).

  2. Make plain sunflower seed cheese. Add the whey you get to the sprouts. Save the cheese. The whey will give a sour taste. Just be careful of not adding to much because bread will turn to a bitter taste that I do not like very much. Here is where you will need a little practice.

  3. Add garlic and coriander.

  4. Put all ingredients in a food processor. I usually use a food processor because I prefer not to get a homogeneous mix. I have found that a less blended batter (with some grains not chopped) dehydrates faster and tastes a lot better. But the mix has to be blended enough to hold together.

  5. Spread batter to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and dehydrate to desired consistency. I like to just partially dehydrate it, leaving the outer parts dried and moist inside.

Note: Sometimes I use other ingredients as celery, zucchini, nori, black pepper, etc.

Hope you like it!
