Get ready for more spin from the pesticide/biotech industry on this
one. Biodiversity is the key to vastly increasing rice crop yields
without monocultures, without biotechnology and, without toxic
pesticides. ~Bunny Snow

Simple Method Found to Vastly Increase Crop Yields

By CAROL KAESUK YOON

In a stunning new result from what has become one of the largest
agricultural experiments ever, thousands of rice farmers in China have
doubled the yields of their most valuable crop and nearly eliminated its
most devastating disease -- without using chemical treatments or
spending a single extra penny.

Under the direction of an international team of scientists, farmers in
China's Yunnan Province implemented a simple change in their rice
paddies. Instead of planting the large stands of a single type of rice,
as they typically have done, the farmers planted a mixture of two
different rices. With this one change, growers were able to radically
restrict the incidence of rice blast -- the most important disease of
this most important staple in the world. Within just two years, farmers
were able to abandon the chemical fungicides previously widely used to
fight the disease.

This is a question to all the men on the list,
Up until yesterday, I was in a year long relationship which I thought was
wonderful and monogamous. I found out yesterday that it was not as
monogamous as I thought (he was a s.a.d. eater who could not even begin to
comprehend the concept of raw food). Now, my broken hearted self wants to
know if raw foodism changes a man in that respect. It seems like in the
animal kingdom, all the animals are either monogamous or polygamous by
instinct, and there is no jealousy involved. Humans seem to be confused
about the issue and it leads to lies and anger.
So, I want to ask the men who are raw -- does eating raw food change
anything?

Subject: Re: monogamy

Hi Judy,

I've been raw for a year and I have not noticed that it changes my interest
in other sexual partners. I think that humans are perhap polygamous by
nature but that monogamy is a discipline which does have its virtues. The
problem, of course, is when the needs/desires of the two partners are not
the same (one wants/is monogamous, while the other wants/is polygamous).
This is compounded when the issue is not out in the open, discussed and
agreed upon beforehand. It may be perfectly okay for partners to reach and
"understanding" around this issue even when needs are different. It is
hurtful, though, if one partner is kept in the dark about what is actually
going on in desires and actions.

If this issue is the only problem with the recent relationship, you may want
to examine your assumption that relationships "should be" monogamous. You
may be assuming that your partner is playing by your rules around this
issue. Again, it is alway best to discuss before making assumptions. Of
course, if you did have an agreement, and were deceived, then this
represents a serious break in trust.

At any rate, I hope that I am not sencing that you are attempting to "fix
his problem" if only he would follow my example and eat all raw. If this is
your thinking, I would take a closer look at it - sounds fairly controlling.
But perhaps you are only thinking that if you perfer monogamy, you may have
a better chance of finding a like-minded mate if you find a raw-partner.
This is more legit thinking, but again, I don't think that it follows that
your sexual proclivities change that much from eating all raw.

Would be interesting to hear what others experience is on this.

David.

No, but this is only "living" in a metaphorical sense. Inanimate objects

Well, it doesn't seem to have changed my philosophical beliefs about
monogamy vs polygamy, but it has diminshed the urge to reproduce
sufficiently that I feel more that I control IT rather than ITS
controlling me, if you know what I mean.

So whatever behavioral actions along those lines I pursue are more likely
to be deliberate, thought-out ones, and not simply reactions to
spur-of-the-moment impulses.

Thank you, that is so good to hear...and as usual, very well said. With raw
food, it seems like everything flows in a logical, natural direction and
what you said confirms that this is no exception.

Oh yes, it was definitely a break in trust. No, I am not attempting to fix
his problem. He is too stupid to ever be a raw foodist. Yes, that is partly
anger talking, but mostly truth. At this point, my thoughts are more towards
slashing his tires than fixing any problem he might have. I'm sorry, thats
my emotions talking.

when all raw, monogamy was the way. when partial raw, or eating cooked,
monogamy was the way. whether it is religious upbringing, a rightness to
the situation, a spiritual principle, "trust" as has been just mentioned,
these are all individual issues that may be more in line with maturity and
self image than what you eat. raw food eating may bring clarity on some
levels, but you could still possibly need the attention of more than one
partner if feeling inadequate in other areas, or perhaps immature and not
self sufficient. the background behind the need is probably more psycho
spiritual and not one of choice of food. there are a lot of horny spiritual
materialists out there, and eating raw is just another spiritual
materialistic form for some. it doesn't necessarily convey piety or self
control. that is a matter of character. who YOU really are. the real
essential You, not the egoic you. my choice is that monogamy is honoring
myself and my partner. more than one lover at a time is dishonoring and
simply just doesn't feel right. too much posturing and being phony.
when i caught my first ex in her big lie that she was not at work (
she was at her adulterous rendezvous), she was pissed that i found out,
totally denied it, stormed out of the room, slammed the door and locked
herself in the bedroom, and would not talk about it. the lying hurt more
than the action. however, earlier in the day when i saw her car in the
driveway of this guys house instead of at work, i had murderous rage to
contend with. hopefully you can enjoy your anger for what it is and have a
good laugh instead. envelop the situation with the TOTALITY OF YOUR BEING.
ENCOMPASS THE EMOTION WITH THE LOVE YOU HAVE FOR LIFE AND YOURSELF. YOU ARE
LARGER, MUCH LARGER THAN THE SITUATION. and please don't do anything to
hurt yourself. be kind and gentle and give yourself the same loving
attention you would to a friend. love, neil

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. He does have a huge ego, but at the same
time he feels inadequate and seriously craves attention (his problems stem
from a really bad childhood). He is also in total denial, even though I have
clear proof. What clinched it was when I coincidentally ran into a mutual
acquaintance who confirmed everything I suspected.
I am also feeling the murderous rage, however would not actually hurt him
because he's not worth it, and would definitely not hurt myself either,
because I do know that I am bigger than the situation, and time will heal
it.
Everyone deals with this kind of thing different - some people get drunk or
hurt people...but me, it makes me want to fast for most of the day, and has
actually strengthened my resolve to cleanse and stay on raw food.

and heightened by the raw lifestyle. While the animal kingdom lives by
instincts, then for us we have been given a choice what to live by. When the
spiritual if fully understood and experienced then the joy of our life does
not have to depend fully on the actions of our partner or for that matter on
the doings of others. We can fully love them and just feel sorry for others
who just are following their instincts and have no feelings or understanding
about their obligations to others and all living, including themselves.
Judy you have stated well:
<<Everyone deals with this kind of thing different - some people get drunk or
hurt people...but me, it makes me want to fast for most of the day, and has
actually strengthened my resolve to cleanse and stay on raw food.>>
It sounds good and now in His joy, Peter

Hi Judy,
On the consumption of nuts - to my understanding almonds supposedly are the
only
alkaline nuts, besides so much better if soaked. Consumption should be small,
because of the high fat and protein.
Grains - I thought that most of them are acidic except millet. Once the
grains are sprouted they supposedly are now safe for our consumption, but
still sparingly.

Shelton stated that pistachios and coconuts are the only alkaline nuts, from
what I recall.

I ate almost a pound of pistachios yesterday. I hardly ever eat nuts - they
make my eyes red,
and so did these (next day). They had some addictive quality to them - OR there
was some nutritional
need being fulfilled. They were unsalted, unroasted, in-shell from sunorganic,
so I don't
know why I ate so many, except that they tasted good.

                                *  *  *  *  *  *  *

It does change to the extend that the raw
regimen practiced allows the Organism to detox Itself.

It may well be necessary, here, to call
Your attention to the fact that not all raw regimens are equal,
nor all lend themselves to the same conclusion: those, in fact,
which incorporate concentrated substances - be it starch or fat -
allow the Organism to a certain degree of detox, while "that"
which totally excludes these substances allows the Organism to
    a complete detox.

Libido is strictly connected and dependent
to the state of toxicity of the Organism: a perfectly detoxified
One rises above sex and emerges into the dimension of Love.

                           Sincerely,
                                                   jb Mirabile-caruso.
